Mr. Moribund's Theatre of Terror will present its second annual Christmas Scareol show Friday and Saturday, Dec. 20 and 21, at the Riverfront Theater in Milford. Doors open at 7 p.m., and both shows begin at 7:30.
Cast members will give a radio play-style performance of spooky Christmas stories and songs.
“This is a new spin on our usual horror host movie show, and I'm very excited to bring it to the stage again this year,” said show creator and performer W.J. Walton. “As a kid, I enjoyed listening to old radio shows rebroadcasted on our local radio stations almost as much as I enjoyed classic horror movies. In recent years, I've learned about how much ghost stories and spooky tales were a part of holiday traditions years ago. That's a tradition that has faded over the years, and I'd love to help bring it back.”
The shows will each feature vintage and new Christmas stories told by the Theatre of Terror cast, along with live music, comedy and audience participation, as well as an awesome holiday sweater contest with prizes. Fans have the opportunity to win one of a series of Moribund cereal boxes filled with prizes, along with other treats offered by local businesses, in a raffle that benefits True Colors, a charity aiding homeless LGBTQ+ teens and youth. The Theatre of Terror is also teaming up with Realtor Jeff Bellon to host a toy drive to benefit children in need at North Dover Elementary School. Everyone who brings in an unwrapped toy for ages 5 through 10 will be entered into a drawing for prizes.
Tickets will only be available at the door.
