Murder suspect arrested in Long Neck
A Wilmington man wanted in connection with a Dover murder was arrested in Long Neck on March 26.
Marcus Bailey, 18, of Wilmington, was taken into custody during a traffic stop in the parking lot of the Long Neck Wawa, and charged with first-degree murder, first-degree robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, and carrying a concealed deadly weapon.
He was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 3 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $1,120,000 cash bond.
Delaware State Police had sought Bailey following a March 24 shooting in the Capital Park neighborhood near Dover. Police said a Dover man, 33, was in the driver’s seat of a car at 3:50 p.m. when Bailey got in the backseat and started a conversation before demanding the victim’s property.
During the exchange, police said, the victim was fatally shot in the upper torso; Bailey fled the scene.
