Music events to benefit Paul Kares continue Feb. 1

January 18, 2024

February is for music lovers at The Room at Cedar Grove in Lewes.

Multiple shows have sold out, including concerts by John Ford Coley and Josh Christina. Now is the time to purchase tickets for upcoming shows, including a recently added concert by Elliot Lurie, author of “Brandy (You’re a Fine Girl),” set for 6:30 p.m., Thursday, March 7. The artist, who sang with the band Looking Glass, will perform with Lewes-area resident Paul Cullen, who previously played with Bad Company. Tickets are $75.

The concerts include a multi-course meal. Beverages are available at the full bar.

Brooklyn-based songwriter Leslie Mendelson, who has performed with Jackson Browne and The Grateful Dead’s Bob Weir, will entertain guests at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 1, during the dinner-and-a-show event.

Mendelson, who opened for The Who at Madison Square Garden last year, appeals to a cross-generational audience. Tickets are $45.

The Sharon Sable Jazz Quartet will come to Lewes at 6:30 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 11. Sable has appeared at the Clifford Brown Jazz Festival in Wilmington and the True Blue Jazz Festival in Rehoboth Beach. Tickets are $40.

On Valentine’s Day, at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 14, Bryan Clark and percussionist Alan Dale will give Cupid a night to remember. Clark is one of the area’s most popular performers. Tickets are $55.

The cool vibe continues with 5th Avenue’s Rat Pack Brunch at 11 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 18. The trio includes Vincent Varrassi on keyboards and vocals, Ken Schleifer on drums and Jeff Cooper on bass. Tickets are $35 each.

Christine Havrilla will join Colleen Clark on stage at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 24. Havrilla is a favorite at The Room, and her shows often sell out. Tickets are $45.
