Nancy Lorraine Sokso, family matriarch
Nancy Lorraine Sokso, formerly an active resident of both the Broadkill Beach and Sadsburyville, Pa. communities, passed away Monday, March 21, 2022, in Newark surrounded by family.
She was born June 28, 1930, in New Holland, Pa., to Landis and Elsie Charles. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Joseph Sokso; and her three siblings. Nancy is survived by her children, Dennis Sokso (Stephanie), Jere Stephano (Scott Moss), and Brenda Reynolds (George); grandchildren John Sokso, Brad Sokso, Staci Cook, Amy Sley, and Justin Reynolds; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren whom she adored.
Nancy lived her life faithfully in the Lord, sharing his word, and practicing his testimony. She loved spending time with her family and friends; cooking meals, socializing, playing games, and was always the life of the party. Her hobbies included gardening, showcasing the most vibrant flowers, as well as bird watching, especially her hummingbirds.
She was the matriarch of her family; loving, kind, sassy, strong, and spunky. Her influence and love were felt by anyone she met, always leaving a lasting impression. She will be greatly missed.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, March 25, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 10 Johnson Road, Newark. All are welcome to attend.
