Nellie K. Jones, devoted matriarch
Nellie K. Jones, 102, of Rehoboth Beach, died Monday, Aug. 28, 2017, at home surrounded by her family.
Nellie graduated from Wilmington High School and attended West Chester University. She married William G. Jones in 1937. She was a master bridge player and a Phillies fan, even through the dark times, but most of all she was a devoted matriarch to her beloved family.
Nellie was predeceased by her husband William in 1993; grandson Keithley G. in 2000; and son Keithley in 2015. She is survived by her children, Constance Jones and William G. Jones (Hale) and daughter-in-law Ginny Jones; eight grandchildren, and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation Saturday, Sept. 16, at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, beginning at 9:30 a.m. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Silverbrook Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Nellie's memory to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 301 King Charles Ave., Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971.
