The board of directors of the Sussex County Association of Realtors is proud to announce the hiring of a new chief executive officer who will manage the county’s only real estate trade association and oversee services to its more than 1,500 realtor members.
Patricia Anderson, SCAOR’s current chief operations officer, takes on the new role after serving in an interim capacity since November 2018. Anderson has been with SCAOR for almost four years and has served the association in administration, as professional standards administrator, and as director of professional development.
Prior to SCAOR, Anderson served in the Delaware Senate as the Sussex County constituent liaison for the Minority Caucus. She brings extensive knowledge and experience in public policy, professional standards, professional development, mediation and arbitration experience from her time at Sussex County Family Court, as well as intervention counseling specialty.
Anderson is a native Delawarean and has been in Sussex County since starting high school. A Cape Henlopen honors graduate, she possess an undergraduate degree in liberal arts (concentration psychology and sociology) from the University of Delaware and has completed some postgraduate studies in organizational psychology/education. Today, she resides in Georgetown with her sons.

As an advocate for the protection of property rights and home ownership, the association has an important job of monitoring trends in the market and providing the necessary tools for our members to be equipped and react effectively, timely and professionally. I am excited for this new chapter for SCAOR, the staff and for myself, and I look forward to the challenges ahead.”
The Sussex County Association of Realtors was chartered in 1949 and has steadily grown in size, scope and mission during its nearly seven decades in Sussex County. It is a professional trade association with goals of carrying out a program of education and advocacy for real estate in the county.
SCAOR is a resource for the public, as well as a recognized advocate for property rights and property owners in Sussex County. The association also monitors legislative issues on the local, state and national levels that may impact home ownership in the area.
