Patricia Jerilyn Huff-McKinney, talented artist

Patricia Jerilyn Huff-McKinney, 66, affectionately known as Jeri, passed away peacefully at Delaware Hospice Center Monday, March 2, 2020.

Jeri was born in Wilmington to the late Richard Huff Sr. and Patricia (Marvel) Huff Stenger. She attended Ohio Northern University and received her bachelor’s degree in art education and later received her master’s degree in art education from University of Delaware. Jeri was the art teacher in the Milford School District for 32 years and ran the art club, as well as previously teaching at Cape Henlopen High School for five years.  She loved all people and all animals, and was a beautiful artist, a talent that she shared with everyone. Jeri had a sweet colorful spirit with rosy cheeks to match and was the glue that held her family together.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Han Huff.

She is survived by her husband, Bruce McKinney; mother, Patricia Stenger; daughter, Shelby Lachmann; siblings, Richard Huff Jr., Jocelyn Godwin and Douglas Huff; grandson, Leif Lachmann; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Friday, March 6, at 11 a.m., in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton.  Interment will follow at Sandhill Cemetery, Milton.
