Paul G. Bingham, proud veteran

June 9, 2022

Paul G. Bingham, 90, of Milton, and formerly of Annapolis, Md., passed away Saturday, June 4, 2022, at his home. He was born April 9, 1932, in Nashua, N.H., son of the late Paul G. Sr. and Mary (Peabody) Bingham.

Mr. Bingham was a proud veteran, having honorably served in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean War. His love of the sea would lead him to a lifelong career working in and around the waterways of the Eastern Shore. He was a jack of all trades: a diesel engine mechanic, captain of a private yacht, and he enjoyed a 25-year career with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources working in code enforcement.

Mr. Bingham was a gifted musician and played drums for 3 Hits and A Miss band, and enjoyed the many senior centers where they would perform. He was a member of  American Legion Post 5 in Rehoboth Beach; he loved to travel, especially to Germany and the Bahamas, and he was an avid sports fan, cheering on his favorite teams. Mr. Bingham loved spending time with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren, who were the apples of his eye. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Bingham was preceded in death by his son, Stephen G. Bingham. He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, A. Joyce Bingham of Milton; his daughter, Rhonda L. Heller (Stephen) of Milton; his grandchildren: Stephen P. Heller (Melissa Hayes) of Dominical, Costa Rica, Nathan L. Heller (Julie) of Dunkirk, Md., and Casey A. Warren (Kyle) of Fort Worth, Texas; his great-grandchildren: Alexia B. Curcio of Fort Worth, Avery L. Heller and Emma L. Heller, both of Dunkirk, Kinley P. Heller of Dominical, Costa Rica, and Tora L. Warren of Fort Worth; his great-grandson, Ryker C. Heller, of Dominical, Costa Rica; and his brother, David Bingham (Vivian) of Nashua, N.H.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963, delwarehospice.org.
