The Concert for the Kids will return Sunday, June 9, but this year, the Paul Kares fundraiser will be held at a new venue.
This is the third year for the live concert, which will run from 4 to 8 p.m., rain or shine, at Hudson Fields, 29763 Eagle Crest Road, Milton.
“We have a fantastic lineup, a scenic setting and a mission that we’re passionate about,” said Jim Rivette, who founded Paul Kares with chef-musician Paul Cullen.
The nonprofit supports young performers and culinary artists by providing grants for equipment, scholarships and other resources that will help students succeed.
This year’s headliners include Bad River, featuring Cullen, who played bass with Bad Company, and Tony Sciuto, a member of Little River Band and Player, along with keyboardist Eliot Lewis, who has played with Todd Rundgren, Joe Walsh, Hall & Oates and the Average White Band.
The lineup also includes Melody Trucks and the Fitzkee Brothers. They will be joined by 19-year-old Eden Cooney and his brother, 14-year-old Isaiah Cooney.
Paul Kares benefits from the recently launched Eagle Crest Concerts’ Friday in the Fields series, which will continue through Oct. 18. The success of the happy hour events led to the decision to relocate the Concert for the Kids from the Milton Theatre to the outdoor site.
“It gives us a sense of continuity for the summer,” Rivette said.
This year, the benefit will include a VIP private tent for a meet-and-greet with the artists before the show. VIP ticket holders also have access to private parking, a private bar and a preferred seating area with provided chairs. Attendees are invited to bring their own chairs for general admission seating.
Tickets are $45 for general admission and $95 for VIP. There is an additional processing fee.
