Paula M. Emerick, loved time with family
Paula M. Emerick, 54, of Lewes, formerly of Linwood, Pa., passed away suddenly at the Einstein Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa., Sunday, Nov. 24, 2019.
Paula was born in Chester, Pa., July 16, 1965, to the late Jerry Gray and Juanita (Greene) Gray. She worked in the office for US Airways for 10 years before moving to Delaware where she was a longtime employee and office manager of First Class Heating & Air in Millsboro, and most recently with Alltemp Air in Lewes prior to her health starting to decline.
Paula enjoyed sweepstaking, photography and traveling, especially taking cruises. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family as she loved her kids and grandkids.
She is survived by her husband, Duwayne C. Emerick; three children, Carol Russell and her husband Damien Russell Sr. of Lewes, William F. Briggs Sr. and his fiancée Dana Kopp of Milton, and Ricky Briggs Sr. and his former wife Laura Briggs of Newark; two stepchildren, Kristy Thibault and her husband Dustin Thibault of Millsboro, and Duwayne Emerick and his wife Yanina Emerick of Millsboro; and 10 grandchildren. Paula is also survived by her father, William F. Snodgrass of Boothwyn, Pa.; three sisters, Dawn Reynolds and her husband Clayton Reynolds of Lewes, Jeanne Brown of Boothwyn and Tabitha Cook and her husband Todd Cook of Franklinville, N.C.; a brother, Jerry Gray and his wife Holly Gray of Asheboro, N.C.; her two furbabies, Sandy and Oreo; and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 6, at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Road, Millsboro, where a celebration of Paula’s life will begin at 2 p.m. Interment will be private.
