Pauline Phillips, served many roles

September 5, 2018

Pauline Phillips, 75, of Gumboro passed away from this earth to her place in the Kingdom of God Monday, Sept. 3, 2018.

She was a vibrant woman who served in many roles during her life, including being owner/operator of a poultry farm, an extensive career in the Gumboro Vol. Fire Company Auxiliary, serving 44 years and holding many offices, including president, treasurer and other service offices.

She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, and also attended Gumboro Wesleyan Church.  She also retired as a Delaware state employee from the Millsboro School.  Friends and family report she was the most wonderful person anyone could ever meet.  She wanted everyone to get along, and her favorite prayer was that everyone would love one another, and that everyone would get saved.

Another joy in her life was her love of cutting grass and listening to the radio on the mower.

She is survived by her husband, Pastor Mark Phillips; a stepdaughter: Terry Lee Chipman and her husband Clifford of Georgetown. Also surviving are her brothers: Bruce Daisey (Pam) of Gumboro, and Willard Daisey (Barbara), also of Gumboro; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

A funeral service and Celebration of Her Life will be conducted at 2 p.m., Friday, Sept. 7, at Watson Funeral Home in Millsboro. Friends may call for viewing and visitation from noon till 2 p.m.  Pastor Eddie Daniels will officiate. Interment follows at Carey’s Cemetery in Millsboro.   In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Vitas Hospice or Gideons International.
