Rehoboth Art League will host a workshop titled Learning to Use Pen and Ink with Watercolor: Still Life with Plants and Flowers from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, March 2.
The process of using pen and ink to make a drawing dates back to 7th and 8th century China. Combining watercolor with pen and ink has also been used by artists and illustrators for years. The looseness of the watercolor contrasts nicely with the hard lines produced by pen and ink.
Local artist Rosemary Connelly will teach students how to combine watercolor painting with pen and ink techniques for unique, exciting effects in their compositions. The cost is $105 per person.
To register, go to www.rehobothartleague.org or call 302-227-8408, Ext. 112. All workshops are held at the Rehoboth Art League, 12 Dodds Lane in Henlopen Acres.
