Peninsula Gallery features artist J. Stacy Rogers during May

The Peninsula Gallery team is excited to promote J. Stacy Rogers as the gallery’s featured artist for May.

Rogers majored in illustration at Philadelphia College of Art (now the University of the Arts) and began illustrating professionally while still a student. After graduating and illustrating for several major magazines, he began designing magazines.

For 15 years, Rogers ran his graphic design business and full-service advertising agency in Morris County, N.J. He was sorry to see the advertising business go but was excited about getting back to painting. He has spent the last 18 years establishing his presence as a fine artist, painting contemporary realism first in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and now in Delaware. Rogers has become particularly adept at painting the landscape en plein air.

Rogers has assembled five very impressive coastal habitat paintings for those who love the shore and Delaware’s Cape Henlopen, in particular. Rogers said it’s the landscape that offers him the kind of subject matter and visual stimulus that makes the all-important emotional connection between the viewer and his paintings. Those who experience his works find a developed observational eye for subtleties and nuances that resonate on a personal level.

This special collection of Rogers’ work will be on display during the month of May.
