Pickleball event to benefit Sussex Academy basketball July 13
Sports at the Beach, in partnership with the Sussex Academy high school boys’ basketball program, will host a Dinks for Dunks Pickleball Tournament Saturday, July 13, at the Sports at the Beach indoor facility at 22518 Lewes-Georgetown Highway, Georgetown.
The tournament will have an open recreational division as well as a competitive division for players ranked 3.5 or higher. Paddles will start swinging at 9 a.m. for the open recreational division and at 1 p.m. for the 3.5+ competitive division.
“The goal is to bring together the community in support of these young men via a sport that is experiencing exponential growth,” said Brad Leinbach, Sussex Academy head coach.
In addition to hosting a fun pickleball accuracy game, tournament representatives will be selling merchandise as well raffle tickets for baskets of gift cards from local businesses.
