Pizza Hut on Route 1 north of Rehoboth Beach has permanently closed.
“We're sorry but this location has been permanently closed,” read Pizza Hut’s website Sept. 22.
In early August, NPC International, the largest franchise operator for Pizza Hut in the United States, said it would close as many as 300 stores. According to a press release at the time of the announcement, NPC had 1,227 locations across the United States, representing 20 percent of the restaurant chain’s base. The Rehoboth Pizza Hut was one of three locally that closed. The others were in Salisbury and Fruitland, Md.
This is the second business located on the corner of Route 1 and Old Landing Road to close its doors recently. Earlier this year, Capital Bank also closed.
