Police arrest teens for fight at Cape Homecoming game
Delaware State Police arrested two teenagers after a fight at the Oct. 21 Homecoming football game Cape Henlopen High School.
Police said two male teens – a 16-year-old from Lewes and a 17-year-old from Rehoboth Beach – were involved in the altercation. Their names are being withheld because they are minors.
Troopers responded to a fight, during which the 16-year-old allegedly charged at the police. Police said a trooper was hit in the face by the 17-year-old. After the teens were taken into custody, police said the 16-year-old continued to resist arrest while being taken to a patrol vehicle.
Police said they detected the odor of alcohol on the 16-year-old and found 17 grams of marijuana on the 17-year-old. The boys were taken to Troop 7 in Lewes and charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. The 16-year-old was charged with underage alcohol consumption, while the 17-year-old was additionally charged with hindering prosecution, offensive touching of a police officer and possession of marijuana.
