Preston Ford places in Top 100 in the nation for all Ford dealers

January 16, 2016

The Preston Ford team of the Preston Automotive Group blew away the goals once again for the Mission Possible 2015 Sales Drive Event and finished at No. 79 for all Ford dealers in the nation for the year. Vice President David Wilson Jr. set the goals early to be No. 1 in the region and in the top 10 in the nation for December and to be in the top 85 or better in the nation for the year. Preston was also  No. 1 in the region and No. 4 in the nation for December, meeting and exceeding Wilson's goals. With over 500 Ford sales in December, the Preston team from a small town with a population of around 800 made the feat look easy as they passed dealerships in cities with populations in the millions. Competing with over 3,300 Ford dealers, Preston Ford has been in the Top 100 dealers five of the past six years.

Since 1975, Preston Ford has offered one of the largest Ford inventories on the East Coast, low Ford prices, and one of the best buying experiences of any dealership. After Ford Motor Company declined to take the government bailout money back in fall 2008, Ford restructured and began putting out the best selection of vehicles, allowing the company to turn around its operations and continue to produce quality products. The restructure aligned with the core values of Preston, allowing the group to never lose faith in the Ford product and to be successful year after year. Ford cars, trucks, and SUVs have become one of the most talked-about brands in the U.S. over the past few years. New products made Ford America’s best-selling brand again for the sixth straight year. The F-Series is America’s best-selling pickup for 39 straight years and the best-selling vehicle for 34 straight years. The Ford Fusion posted record results for December and Ford SUVs had the best December since 2003, with the Escape, Edge and Explorer contributing to gains.

“The final month of the year is always the busiest and most exciting time of year for us,” says Dave Wilson Sr., president of Preston Automotive Group. “Our inventory is the largest, and the showroom fills up. Everyone is busy with two or three deals at once. You can feel the excitement and energy; I love this time of year and being involved with our loyal customers.” This December, the Preston management team challenged Dave and wife Peg with a personal goal to sell 50 vehicles from Dec. 1 to Jan. 4. In addition to all the group sales goals, Dave and Peg met the challenge and donated $200 to Saving Second Base for each sale.

The Preston Group knows the community and its loyal customers are the reason for their success and that is why community is one of the core values at Preston. The group has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars actively supporting many charities and organizations in and around Delmarva. In addition to the December Saving Second Base donation, the Preston Group donated to the American Cancer Society based on October sales and in November supported the VFW with a donation totaling nearly $40,000 among the three events. In addition, the Preston Group is planning a sales-based donation in February 2016 for the American Heart Association.
