Gazette readers Todd and Kim Hammond took a break to catch up on the news while visiting Palermo, Italy. Palermo is the capital of Sicily, which is the largest island in the Mediterranean Sea, sitting off the southern coast of mainland Italy and near Tunisia and Malta. It is known for its stunning architecture, vibrant street markets, and delicious Sicilian cuisine. It’s also been influenced by many cultures, including Greek, Roman, Arab, and Norman, leaving behind a rich and diverse heritage.
