The Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company held its Annual Awards Banquet Feb. 13. The banquet was held this year at the fire house because of the closing of the convention center.
The social was held in the fire company museum, and the dinner was held in the upstairs hall. The dinner was catered by Bethany Blues.
There were 144 people in attendance including Rehoboth Beach Mayor Sam Cooper, who is a life member of the fire company; Rehoboth Beach commissioners Kathy McGinnis and Stan Mills; Dewey Beach Mayor Diane Hanson; Speaker of the House Rep. Pete Schwartzkopf, D-Rehoboth Beach; and Sen. Ernie Lopez, R-Lewes.
Ladies Auxiliary President Katy Catts presented a check to President Ronnie Blizzard and Chief Chatham Marsch for $5,000 for the building fund. The Chief’s Award was presented to active firefighter John Meng for his dedicated service to the company.
The President’s Award was presented to William DelleDonne for his chairmanship of the new Station 2 Building Committee. Life memberships were presented to firefighters Rob Dobak and Kevin Monigle.
