Rehoboth Beach Green Drinks to meet online May 26
Rehoboth Beach Green Drinks will meet virtually from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 26, to hear a talk and update on Clean Energy, including solar, wind, and legislation to make more clean energy in Delaware.
Guest speaker this month is Dustyn Thompson from Wilmington. Thompson, a volunteer and community outreach coordinator, joined the staff of the Sierra Club Delaware Chapter in July 2019. He has worked in the Delaware political world since 2016, helping organize a prominent progressive organization in Delaware, Delaware United. Thompson believes that Delaware can become a leader in the fight for environmental justice through collaboration and coalition building. Growing up in what was once a rural mountain town, hiking along the Appalachian Trail, spending hours in the woods, he knows the value of being able to enjoy the outdoors as a child.
He will be reaching out to volunteers and other organizations to help build a formidable force to protect the environment in Delaware. He continues to enjoy hiking and biking through the parks in Delaware and surrounding states, and looks forward to creating events around these and other outdoor activities.
Rehoboth Beach Green Drinks is a monthly gathering of people interested in hearing a discussion on green or environmental topics, usually held at a Rehoboth Beach bar/restaurant. The new meeting format using Zoom is being set up in cooperation with the Sierra Club Delaware Chapter.
Everyone is invited to connect with eco-minded people, share new ideas, discover new opportunities, build relationships and support the local economy.
To RSVP, contact Joan Flaherty or Charlie Garlow, 301-312-7703 or 240-353-4962.
