In response to a request from the City of Rehoboth Beach, Rehoboth in Bloom and the UNICO Rehoboth Area Chapter are preparing to take on a cleanup project at the Verrazzano Monument garden at Olive Avenue and the Boardwalk.

With the guidance of Jennifer Pongratz, an environmental scientist with the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control, participants recently met for an initial planning meeting. The new team will facilitate cleanups each month throughout the summer. In fall, planting of dune-friendly perennials will begin.
