Rehoboth Concert Band will celebrate the coming of spring with its performance of Magic, at 3 p.m., Sunday, March 19, at Epworth United Methodist Church, 19285 Holland Glade Road, Rehoboth Beach.
The concert will feature music to usher in new life and all things magical, and proceeds will benefit the Cape Henlopen Senior Center in Rehoboth Beach. The center’s mission is to provide a wide range of professional, active and socially engaging services to older adults in the community.
Tickets are $20 per person. Ages 18 and under are admitted free.
To buy tickets, go to rehobothconcertband.org, visit Cape Henlopen Senior Center, 11 Christian St., Rehoboth Beach, or pay at the door with cash or card.
Audience members will travel deep into the galaxy in “Journey Through Orion,” with musical imagery inspired by the Hubble Space Telescope, or stay fully grounded on Earth as “Magic City Montage” energizes the audience with a sparkling tour of Miami. Attendees will relive the magic of screen and stage with medleys from the theater days of Rodgers and Hammerstein. In true RCB fashion, there will also be a few surprises.
“Magic” will feature Vientos Quartet, a woodwind ensemble that will perform highly polished music as well as entertain with the antics of “The Lone Ar-ranger!” in a frolicking compilation of familiar tunes. Always an audience favorite, the RCB Jazz Band will also take the stage.
The band consists of professionally trained performers, recreational musicians and talented students from the Cape Region. RCB’s mission is to provide area instrumentalists with opportunities to make beautiful music while enriching community life.
