One-year shared position with the City of Milford
July 7, 2017

The City of Rehoboth Beach announced its recent hire of Evan Miller, who joined the city as an International City/County Management Association local government management fellow. His fellowship is a one-year shared position with the City of Milford that began June 15.

This highly competitive career-development opportunity is designed to generate interest in local government careers among recent master's program graduates. Selected fellows are placed in a full-time management-track local government position, shaped by direct mentorship under senior government leaders and rotational assignments. Miller earned his bachelor's degree from Wilkes University and received his master's in public administration from the University of Delaware.

"I am looking forward to gaining experience in a diverse community and working on projects that are specifically tailored to a beach town," Miller said. In addition to his experience interning in university with the Borough of Media, Pennsylvania, where he worked on the town's capital improvement plan, Miller volunteered with the Milford Housing Development Corporation providing homes to low-income families.

"The fellowship program is designed to work closely with city staff to provide customized project deliverables to strengthen the city's collaborative work together. Fellows receive training and develop unique skills to foster intergovernmental partnerships across city, civic, and public education sectors," said City Manager Sharon Lynn. "We are excited to launch this program aimed at bringing more public policy and administration students into local government."
