Richard L. Webb, farmer, fire policeman

Richard “Skip” L. Webb, 76, of Milford, passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at his home in Milford. He was born July 17, 1946, to the late William H. Webb Sr. and Catherine (Murphy) Webb.

A lifetime native to Delaware, Skip followed in his father’s footsteps as a third-generation farmer with FA Webb & Sons and raised chickens for 38 years. He was a hard worker, and was proud of the country he lived in, which he showed by serving in the Navy on the USS Forrestal from 1965-69. Skip was a life member of the South Bowers Fire Company and served as a fire policeman. He loved his family and was loved by those around him. Skip was known for riding his motorcycle with friends, driving around the neck, and having a true passion for fishing and crabbing.

In addition to his parents, Skip is preceded in death by his brother, William (Wild Bill) H. Webb Jr.

He is survived by his loving wife, Cindy Webb, three children, Richard Webb Jr. “Skipper” (Jessica), Sierra Harvey (Jason) and Shanea Webb (Shane McQuillen), three grandchildren, Sayda McQuillen, Starley Harvey and Sky Harvey; brother, Frank Webb; and two nieces.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m., Friday, July 14, at Berry-Short Funeral Home chapel, 119 N.W. Front St., Milford, where friends may call after 2 p.m.

Arrangements are in the care of Berry-Short Funeral Home, Milford.
