Richard Wesley Wright, varied work history
Richard Wesley Wright, 75, of Ocean View, passed away Friday, Nov. 7, 2014, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes.
Richard was born in 1939 in Chester, Pa. He graduated from Girard College of Philadelphia, Pa. in 1957 and attended Drexel Institute of Technology for two years. Richard also served two years in the U.S. Army.
Richard had an extensive work history by working for National Geographic and Kay Jewelry Stores in Washington, D.C., W. Bell & Co. in Maryland and also the Montgomery County, Md. government. After moving to Delaware, he worked for the Millville Town Hall and also worked and volunteered at Brandywine Assisted Living in Fenwick Island.
He enjoyed computers, traveling, square dancing and cooking. He also loved animals and enjoyed all types of music. He especially enjoyed playing the organ. He was a member of Millville United Methodist Church where he served as choir director for four years and also on the administrative council.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Luella (Lytle) Wright; nephew Donald Wright and his family; and niece Ruth Wright Dey and her family.
A visitation will be held Sunday, Nov. 16, from 2 to 4 p.m., at the Ocean View Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Road in Ocean View. Funeral Services will be held Monday, Nov. 17, at 1 p.m., at Millville United Methodist Church followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Dagsboro.
