Robert (Bob) Lee Davis Sr., ‘The Old Marine’

Robert (Bob) Lee Davis Sr., “The Old Marine,” 81, of Millsboro, formerly of Burtonsville, Md., passed away Thursday, Jan. 23, 2020, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Md.

He was born in Washington, D.C., June 26, 1938, son of the late Beverly P. Davis Jr. and the late Anna Lee (Thompson) Davis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Vickie Patterson; and two brothers, Joseph and Ronald Davis.

Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1956-59.  He retired from Giant Food in Montgomery County, Md., after 25 years of service.  Upon moving to Delaware in 2000, Bob worked as a security officer for Sea Colony in Bethany Beach, a job he thoroughly enjoyed.

Bob loved going to car shows, not only looking at the cars but showing his as well. He also owned Harley-Davidson motorcycles over the years and loved riding them.

He is survived by his fiancée, Elizabeth Landi; a son, Robert L. Davis Jr. of Florida; several grandchildren; and a brother, William Davis of Delaware.

Services and burial will be held privately at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro.
