Robert Horace Lynch, many interests, hobbies
Robert "Bob" Horace Lynch Jr., 74, of Lewes, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and close friends Thursday, Oct. 27, 2022. He was born Dec. 12, 1947, in Elizabeth City, N.C., son of the late Horace and Louise (Denton) Lynch.
Bob graduated Albert Einstein High School in Kensington, Md., and continued his studies at Franconia College in New Hampshire, as well as Montgomery College in Rockville, Md., obtaining a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts. He married the love of his life, Lisa Lynch, June 29, 1984, and together they enjoyed 38 years of marriage. Bob built his career working for several nonprofit organizations such as Manna Inc. as a director of construction and design, as well as a project manager for Jubilee Enterprise of Greater Washington in Washington, D.C.
Bob had many and varied interests and hobbies. He was a coffee and chili roaster. A gourmet cook, Bob loved preparing meals for his family, friends and work colleagues, barbeque being his specialty. He loved traveling in the U.S. and abroad, and was a fine cigar and bourbon collector. An avid reader, he could often be found reading late into the night. Bob’s next greatest love was photography in his early years, and later in life, he became an enthusiastic golfer and enjoyed the opportunity to play on many courses as often as he could. He was a proud member of Indian River Senior Golf League as well as a longtime member of Cinema Art Theater of Lewes. Bob had a charitable nature and was a dedicated volunteer at Meals on Wheels in Lewes. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Loved by many, he will be deeply and genuinely missed by all who had the good fortune to know him.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Lisa Lynch; his son, Chris Lynch; his daughter-in-law, Aileen; his grandchildren: Sebastian and Isabella Lynch; his sisters: Hannah Batovsky and Pleasant Ann Lynch; his brother-in-law, David Lynch; his niece, Natalie Batovsky; and his nephew, David Batovsky. He is also survived by his New Mexico family, brother and sister-in-law Pam and Ron Decktor; and nephews Alan and Dovey Decktor.
Final care for Bob has been entrusted to Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
