Robert J. Bohan, active in community
Robert J. “Bob” Bohan, 85, of Lewes passed away peacefully Monday, Dec. 13, 2021. He was born in Manhattan, N.Y., son of the late Peter and Betty Bohan.
Bob earned an associate’s degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, N.J. He then pursued a career as an insurance adjuster and worked in real estate before retiring to Lewes 20 years ago.
Bob served as a volunteer fireman and first responder in Oradell, N.J., and as president of the Midway Lions Club in Lewes.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by two sisters. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Joanna Bohan; his sister-in-law, Dolores Backhus (Tom); three nieces; and four great-nephews.
Services were held at St. Andrew the Apostle Orthodox Church, where Bob was a parishioner. Arrangements have been entrusted to Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
