Rosemarie Van Ingen, trivia queen
Rosemarie “Rose” Van Ingen, 85, of Seaford, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Friday, Dec. 2, 2022. She was born Aug. 25, 1937, in Somerville N.J., daughter of the late Walter and Barbara (Beck) Fay.
Rose had resided in central New Jersey, eastern towns of Florida, Lewes and Rehoboth Beach, and most recently resided at Methodist Manor House Nursing Home in Seaford, where she called home. She was a trivia queen, loved word search puzzles and the book club, and enjoyed her artistic works. Rose retired from Macy's in Florida and Walmart in Delaware.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husbands, Schuyler Van Ingen and William Thomas; her sister, Judith Fay Orlando; her stepdaughter, Alison Bankes; and her niece, Barbara Morrell. Rose is survived by her brother, Robert W. Fay and his wife Tena; her stepdaughters: Judith Van Ingen, Kristine Washburn and Marion Van Ingen; her step-grandchildren: Lindsey Washburn Jensen and Blake Washburn. Rose’s family also included nephews and nieces, Warren Orlando Jr., Karen Orlando, Gail Orlando, Robert Kenneth Fay, Suzanne Fay DiBella and Heather Fay. Her life was also graced with many great-nieces, -nephews and grandchildren. Rose was loved by many, she will be deeply missed by all who had the good fortune to know her.
All family members will be invited to a Celebration of Rosemarie’s Life followed by a burial near the sea in the spring of 2023. Details will be forthcoming on Parsell Funeral Homes’ website once finalized.
