UPDATE: Route 1 has reopened

Route 1 between Dewey Beach and Bethany Beach has reopened to all traffic. 

Motorists are urged to drive with caution because standing water may still be present on the shoulders of the roadway.

Due to flooding, Route 1 was closed Oct. 29 about 5:30 p.m. and remained closed throughout the night.

The following roads remain closed:

River Road in Oak Orchard

New Road at Canary Creek Bridge

Cedar Beach Road between Mills Road and Drawbridge

Long Neck Road

Camp Arrowhead Road

Country Club Road

Lewis Road

Beaver Dam Road

Market Street between High Street/Water Street

Roadways with high water:

Lighthouse Road

Slaughter Beach

Woodland Road at Woodland Ferry Road
