Sandra Maria Dean, loved laughing
Sandra Maria Dean, 75, of Rehoboth Beach passed away Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019, at her home in Rehoboth Beach. She was born Wednesday, Nov. 17, 1943, in Washington, D.C., daughter of the late Neil John Bigley Sr. and Margaret Marie (Sayre) Bigley.
After many years of government service for the USDA, Mrs. Dean retired as travel coordinator for the National Gallery of Art. She was a Brentwood majorette of her home town in Brentwood, Md. Sandy, always quick with her wit, made friends anywhere. She loved laughing as well as making people laugh. Sandy loved her family, friends and her dogs, Coach and Kaci.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dean was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Howard Robert Dean; and a brother, Timothy Bigley. She is survived by one son, Brian David Dean and his wife Pam of Laurel, Md.; one daughter, Michelle Stevens and her husband Michael of Chester River Beach, Kent Island, Md.; two grandsons: Quinn and Liam Dean; one granddaughter, Kayleigh Stevens; three brothers: Neil J. Bigley Jr. of Denver, Colo., Michael J. Bigley and his wife Linda of Deal Island, Md., and Patrick S. Bigley and his wife Linda of Deale, Md.; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, Feb. 1, at 11 a.m., at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, where friends may visit beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be private.
