Schell Brothers’ director of sales selected for Professional Builder’s Forty Under 40
Professional Builder magazine unveiled its annual Forty Under 40 list of rising stars in the home building industry for 2019, and Jamie Hudson, director of sales for Schell Brothers, is among the honorees profiled in the March 2019 issue.
Honorees are nominated for accomplishments achieved before the age of 40. This year’s class of 11 women and 29 men were selected from over 150 nominations submitted from all regions of the United States. Their job titles range from entrepreneurs to designers, architects, accountants, directors of marketing, sales representatives, and operations managers. Hudson’s inspirational leadership approach, commitment to utilizing new technology to streamline and improve sales operations, and expansion into the new market of Richmond, Va., allowed her to stand out among this year’s nominees.
Schell Brothers is a home builder serving coastal Delaware and the Richmond area. Hudson, lovingly referred to as “JHud” by the Schell team, joined the company in 2008 as a community sales manager and was promoted to her current position as director of sales in 2010. She is the youngest ever to take on this role, as well as the youngest employee to be named a senior partner in the company.
Since starting her role nine years ago, the sales team has quadrupled in size to over 30 community sales managers, while sales volume has also steadily increased. Hudson’s drive, dedication and leadership are not only an inspiration to her sales team, but the organization as a whole. Her passion, positivity and business acumen are driving forces behind the consistent growth and overwhelming success of Schell Brothers.
Hudson’s community outreach includes involvement in several professional organizations and service projects. She serves on the board for Jeff Shore’s Leadership Round Table and is a member of the Home Builders Association of Delaware’s Sales and Marketing Council. Hudson was featured as a panel speaker for Jeff Shore’s 2017 Sales Leadership Summit and is a regular keynote speaker for National Association of Home Builders member events. Additionally, she has been active in several notable service projects, including “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” and Schell Brothers’ annual Toys for Tots drive.
When Hudson is not breaking sales goals or coaching a member of her team, she can be found spending time with her two adorable boys, Grant and Jack. They love running around the beach and watching football together. Beyond that, Hudson’s favorite hobbies include riding her horses and getting lost in a good book, preferably on the beach.
