The Rehoboth Beach Film Society’s Cinema Art Theater will host a special screening and fundraiser event at 7 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 5, featuring the 2023 documentary, “STILL: A Michael J. Fox Movie,” directed by Davis Guggenheim. Event proceeds will benefit the Parkinson's Education & Support Group of Sussex County.
The film is an intimate look into the life of a short kid (Michael J. Fox) from a Canadian army base who becomes an international pop culture darling in the 1980s, only to find the course of his life forever altered by a stunning diagnosis. What happens when an incurable optimist confronts an incurable disease?
"We are incredibly excited to have the opportunity to share the remarkable story of Michael J. Fox, while also raising awareness and providing support for our Parkinson's group and the individuals within our community who are living with Parkinson's disease,” said Amanda Peters, PESGSC volunteer and board president.
All ticket sales directly benefit the group’s efforts here in the Sussex County community. The mission of the PESGSC is to improve the lives of those with Parkinson’s disease through education, exercise and support. For more information about the organization, go to sussexdeparkinsons.com.
Admission cost is $15, and includes the screening and a 6 p.m. reception. A matinee screening will begin at 2 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 6, with a ticket cost of $10. Both screenings will take place in the CAT’s 104-seat main theater.
