Sensory-friendly screening of ‘Maleficent: Mistress of Evil’ set Oct. 19 at Movies at Midway
The Movies at Midway will offer a sensory-friendly screening of “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil,” at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 19. Doors will open at 9:30 a.m.
This is a public screening intended for families and friends of children with autism and other special needs. The lights will be turned up while the sound is turned down. Guests are welcome to get up, move around and talk during the movie, as well as clap, dance and sing - whatever they need to do to feel comfortable and enjoy the movie-going experience. Capacity will be limited, and those with dietary restrictions may bring their own snacks.
The Movies at Midway team loves to give back to the community and will donate 10 percent of concession sales from this screening to the Sussex Consortium for use in its new school building.
Tickets are $9 and must be purchased in person at the box office. Advance ticket sales begin one week prior to event. For more information, go to www.moviesatmidway.com.
