Southern Delaware Therapeutic Riding held its eighth annual Barn Dance Oct. 19, at its facility on Harbeson Road near Milton.
Funds raised from this event directly support the therapeutic riding program and provide scholarships to those who would be unable to benefit from SDTR’s services.
In addition to a night of dancing, there was a silent auction, a $20 bottle grab, a $5 wheel of chance, SDTR merchandise and more. Dinner for the event was catered by Whole Roast Barbeque Services. In addition, there was an open bar, the always-popular bourbon tasting station, and music by the Mason Dixon Band.
“As a nonprofit leader, it’s so heartwarming that the community comes out in support of an organization that I love so much.”, said Jo Allegro-Smith, executive director of SDTR. “We do incredibly good work in the community, and to have this acknowledgement by the community ... is just so meaningful.”
