Steven L. Hudson, Sussex engineer
Mr. Steven L. Hudson, 55, of Millsboro passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at the Delaware Hospice Center.
Steven was born in Salisbury, Md., July 28, 1961, to the late George Hudson and Delores Welch, who survives him.
He was the director of technical engineering for Sussex County for 27 years. Steve was a central figure in pioneering the 911 Center and the solar field at the Georgetown Airport. He was a Redskins fan and enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, golfing, and target shooting. He was a family man and enjoyed spending time with them, especially trips to Disney with his grandchildren. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Mary Carol Hudson of Millsboro; a daughter, Carrie Patterson and her husband Kevin of Harrington; a son, Brian Marvel and his wife Tanya of Selbyville; stepmother, Sue Hudson of Millsboro; brother, Tony Hudson and his companion Tammy Sisk of Georgetown; sisters, Terry Komlo and her husband Brian of Laurel, and Tammy Tisher and her husband Mark of Ellendale; stepbrothers, Troy Lockwood and his wife Jill of New York, and Herman Lockwood and his wife Letitia of Georgetown. He is also survived by his five grandchildren, Natalie Patterson, Iain Patterson, Logan Marvel, Morgan Marvel and Maddelyn Marvel, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends.
A funeral service and celebration of his life will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, March 13, at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for visitation and viewing. Burial will follow at Millsboro Cemetery.
