Steven Peet joins physical therapy team at SDPT

Steven Clifford Peet, MS, PT, recently joined the staff of physical therapists at Southern Delaware Physical Therapy.  He is a recent graduate of Misericordia University in Dallas, Pa., and holds a bachelor of science degree in health science and a master’s degree in physical therapy.  He received his professional license in July 2010.

Peet evaluates patients and does physical therapy treatments for Southern Delaware Physical Therapy (SDPT) at the 701 Savannah Road clinic in Lewes.

While completing his work at Misericordia, Peet gained his neurologic and orthopaedic clinical experience from Easter Seals Disability Services in Georgetown, and he acquired inpatient acute rehabilitation and home-health physical therapy experience from Beebe Medical Center.

Activities and accomplishments at Misericordia University included being student government class president for four years, varsity baseball captain, campus peer advocate and member of the physical therapy club.  
He is now working at the place that first sparked his interest in physical therapy.  After he injured his arm playing Lewes Little League baseball, SDPT was able to successfully rehabilitate his arm to pitch throughout high school and college.  “Going to high school down the road at Cape allowed me to have internship and volunteer opportunities with SDPT that eventually led to landing a job before graduating from Misericordia,” Peet said.

Clinical Director Eric Reinhold said Peet has particular interests in sports medicine and vestibular rehabilitation, but his interests are varied.  “Steve enjoys working with all age groups, from pediatric to retired patients,” said Reinhold.

Peet is cardiopulmonary resuscitation certified by the American Red Cross, has first responder status from the Delaware State Fire School, and is affiliated with the American Physical Therapy Association.
