Sussex Academy boys’ basketball falls to Salisbury School

The Sussex Academy boys’ basketball team was scrappy, but the Salisbury School’s height took the advantage in the first half, and the Dragons handed the Seahawks their 13th loss of the season 52-38.

Sussex Academy guard Ryan Bishop led the Seahawks with 10 points, while Fadens Amisial and Allen Hopler scored six each. Jake Anthony, Mitch Ewing and Anthony Oscar added four. Panayiotis Vasilikos and Tucker Anthony each hit for two.

The Dragons were led by Joshua Lewis with 17 points. Jared Vazquez and Grant Wagner scored 14 and 13 points, respectively. Jozsef Baraz added eight.

The Salisbury School went into halftime leading 29-14. The Seahawks outscored the Dragons 24-23 in the second half, but could not make up the first-half deficit.

The Seahawks will travel to Milford Thursday, Jan. 24, for a matchup with the Bucs.
