Sussex Academy student honored for winning poster contest entry
Sussex Academy eighth-grader Zylah Nash was honored by the Delaware Domestic Violence Coordinating Council for her winning entry in the DVCC Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month Poster Contest.
As the middle school third-place winner, Zylah was presented with a $150 Visa gift card and her framed artwork during the council’s quarterly meeting at Legislative Hall March 10.
The contest was open to Delaware middle and high school students. This year’s theme was Know the Signs: Recognizing Green and Red Flags.
Zylah, who has an interest in graphic design, said she researched ways teenagers can be manipulated in a relationship as she created her poster. Her work was displayed with all middle school posters and the top 10 high school posters at Legislative Hall in January.
