Sussex Republican Women award scholarships

The Sussex County Republican Women’s Club awarded scholarships to Delaware Technical Community College nursing students Tina Collins and Joe Myers, science and general studies student Rebekah Reed, elementary education student Kaycie Jenkins and Stephanie Busch, who is studying office technology

This year, the club revamped its scholarship program to partner with Delaware Tech. Scholarships will provide funding for Republican women who are enrolled at the college through the SEED Program. While this program covers the tuition cost for students, it does not pay for fees, books or uniforms, if required. The club’s goal is to assist students who are likely to remain local and offer services to Sussex County residents in career areas where there is great need, such as healthcare.

The club honored Collins and Myers at its June 26 meeting.
