Sussex Strong seeks help wrapping presents for youth Dec. 10

The Sussex Strong - Sussex County Association of Realtors Community Service Foundation is seeking volunteers to assist with wrapping presents for more than 300 children as part of its annual campaign to make the holidays bright for local families in need.

Wrapping day will begin at 9 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 10, at the Rusty Rudder in Dewey Beach. Volunteers are encouraged to bring wrapping paper and boxes if possible, but there will be supplies to share as well. All are welcome; no sign-up is needed.

Having raised over $82,000 at the annual Sussex Strong Gala with the primary goal of helping kids in Sussex County, committee members and helpers recently shopped for their needs, selecting new clothes, shoes and a toy for each child. The wrapping session is the final step before delivery of all the gifts to the participating agencies and schools for distribution to families.

To date, Sussex Strong has raised over $1,692,000, and helped more than 10,320 children in Sussex County.
