Sussex Tech BPA students excel at state conference

A total of 27 Business, Finance and Marketing students from Sussex Tech earned the opportunity to participate in the Business Professionals of America State Conference. They attended workshops, participated in open business events, presented their respective judged events and met with 1,200 other students statewide.

The following earned the right to compete at the BPA National Leadership Conference in Chicago  April 25-29:  Ryan Fitzgerald, first, Human Resource Management; Gavin Short, first, Digital Media Production; Mahnoor Mahmood, first, Payroll Accounting; Reggie Summers, third, Fundamental Accounting and fifth, Payroll Accounting; Devin Deloach, second, Presentation Management - Individual; Nhu Do, fifth, Keyboarding Applications. Other top-10 finishers were Economic Research Project - Individual - Christina Piper, fifth, and Catherine Getz, sixth; Entrepreneurship - Cody Penrod, fifth; Extemporaneous Speech - Samantha Campos, fifth; Advanced Interview Skills - Kristen Ulmer, fourth, and Ryan Fitzgerald, eighth; Advanced Word Processing Skills - Darian Corder, 10th; Interview Skills - Ryan Barwick, sixth, Jazmine Muller, ninth, and Alijae Cannon, 10th; Keyboarding Production - Nhu Do, fifth; Human Resource Management - Jenna Stevens, sixth; Payroll Accounting - Garrett Beideman, ninth; Prepared Speech - Jack Redefer, seventh, Drekia McKoy, eighth, and Bri Wentworth, ninth; Presentation Management Team - Danny Halloran and Nhu Do, third; Small Business Management Team - Elijah Greene, Juan Leonard and Gavin Short, sixth; and Web Site Design Team - Bri Wentworth and Samantha Campos, third.
