Suzanne Lynn Harrison, counselor
Suzanne Lynn Harrison, 59, of Dagsboro passed away suddenly in her sleep Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021, at her residence. She was born Dec. 6, 1961, in Wilmington. Suzanne lived with the result of a major spinal cord injury for the past two years but maintained a cheerful outlook on life.
Suzanne was a graduate of Brandywine High School and worked for several years in Rehoboth Beach at various positions. She enlisted in the Naval Reserve, active status, to attend photography training. Following basic training in Sarasota, Fla., she attended the Naval Photo School in Pensacola, Fla. When she returned to private life, she traveled extensively around the country. During this time Suzanne worked in banks in California. Returning to Delaware, she settled in Clarksville and worked for many years as a drug and alcohol counselor in Georgetown. During this time, she acquired her most precious possession, two blue-tick coon hounds. Being with her since 9 weeks old, they have become beautiful but spoiled 8-year-old companions.
Suzanne was preceded in death by her mother, Nancy Jane (Thompson) Harrison. She is survived by her father, Wilson Stewart Harrison; her brother, Tom Harrison and his wife Katie; her nephew, James Harrison and his fiancée Koryn Mocko; her nieces: Caitlin Harrison and her son, Kayson; and Cerise Smith and her daughters, Samara and Alyssa.
A funeral service will be held Friday, Nov. 12, at 11 a.m., at St. George's United Methodist Church, 34337 Omar Road, Frankford. Interment to follow the service at the church cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
