Sweet Chalet and Scout Milton open on Union Street

Owners of Edie Bees in Lewes take on new ventures
July 4, 2024

Right in the heart of downtown Milton are two new shops that are guaranteed to satisfy customers’ sweet tooth and show pride in coming from Milton.

Sweet Chalet and Scout Milton are two businesses located in the same storefront at 113 Union St., owned and operated by Tyler and Michelle Teed. The Teeds also run Edie Bees Confection Shop in Lewes. The two new Milton businesses opened in mid-June, taking over the space formerly occupied by 302 Bicycles, which was renovated to fit the two new shops.

Tyler said Sweet Chalet is keeping with Edie Bees in that it serves confections, with the big attraction being the chocolate truffles from Le Grand in California. Scout Milton is a retail store selling Milton-branded T-shirts, outdoor items and gifts.

“We had seen a need for retail space in Milton,” Teed said. “We wanted to create a space that anybody you are with would be happy with. We wanted a space that is going to catch anybody’s eye.”

Teed said his favorite item at Sweet Chalet is the candy fish from Sweden; much of the concept for Scout Milton came from Michelle, whose specialty is design.

“Amazingly warm reception from the people of Milton. It seems the kids have found the candy. It seems like anyone coming from a restaurant is popping in. We’re really grateful for it,” Teed said.

Sweet Chalet and Scout Milton are open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 1 to 8 p.m., Sunday. More information can be found via Facebook and Instagram or by calling 302-803-1258.
