Sylvia A. Hughes, excellent cook

Sylvia A. Hughes, 70, passed away surrounded by her family Sunday, Nov. 1, 2020, at her home in Ellendale. She was born June 10, 1950, in Lewes, the daughter of the late Herman Littleton and Daisy Davis Littleton. 
After her education, she married Robert Hughes Dec. 28, 1973, and they made their home in Ellendale. 

As both an excellent cook and baker, “Syl” worked at the Rehoboth Beach Country Club for many years preparing meals for members and guests.  She also shared her talents at home, cooking and baking for her family and friends.  In her free time, she loved visiting area yard sales, flea markets, working with crafts and her flower garden.  She also enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Robert “Bob” Hughes of Ellendale; a daughter, Lori Bailey of Flatwood, Ky.; a son, Shawn Hughes and his companion Melissa Roberts of Ellendale; two grandchildren: Aquinna R. Hughes and Kaya L. Hughes; four sisters: Jennie Hurley and her husband Don of Hampton, Va., Catherine Voss and her husband Daniel of Laurel, Wilma Besnoska of Houston, and Connie Collins and her husband Alfred of Georgetown; and one brother, William Littleton and his wife Brenda of Ocean Pines, Md.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Janice Gibson and Sally Robbins, and one brother, Allen Littleton.

The family will receive friends Thursday, Nov. 5, from 3 to 6 p.m., at the Framptom Funeral Home Fleischauer Chapel in Greenwood.  Burial will be private.
