Theodore M. Long, decorated Army veteran

Theodore M. "Ted" Long, 77, of Lewes, died at his home Saturday, June 1, 2024. He was born in Chester, Pa., son of the late Max and Emma Smith Long; he lived in Ridley Park before moving to Lewes in 2018.

Ted graduated from Chester High School class of 1965 and was a decorated Vietnam U.S. Army veteran. Before his retirement, he worked as an electrician at General Electric. Ted was a member of VFW Post 777 in Crum Lynne and enjoyed fishing, boating, and hunting, but most important was his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was the loving husband of Arlene D. Hayes Long, father of Kellie Diamond (Gary) and Christine Fromal (Harry McCrossin), grandfather of Alexandra Yotter, Ryan Yotter, Brett Fromal, Gage Fromal and the late Gary W. Diamond Jr., great-grandfather of Evan and Ella Yotter, brother of Maxine Roberts (Bill), and brother-in-law of Barbara Nissell (Jim).

A funeral service will be held at noon, Monday, June 10, at White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park, Pa., where relatives and friends may call after 11 a.m. Burial will be at Fernwood Cemetery.
