Toss4Vets benefits those who have served

Cornhole tournaments take place every other Tuesday at American Legion Post 17
September 8, 2022

Every other Tuesday, some of the best cornhole players in the area converge on American Legion Post 17 in Lewes not only to compete, but to raise money in the Toss4Vets program as part of Race4Warriors.

The tournament, which is part of the Race4Warriors organization, will continue through the end of November and is open to everyone at all levels, said organizer Michael Bellerose, a retired U.S. Air Force chief first sergeant. Cash prizes are given to each week’s winners. An ongoing raffle’s proceeds will go to the organization’s Middle East Historical Exhibit.

Race4Warriors was founded by six retired veterans with extensive military backgrounds. Its mission is to honor those who served in the Middle East, while providing support for wounded warriors and homeless veterans.

The next event is scheduled for May 13, 2023, with a variety of races, vendors and music at Cape Henlopen State Park. Go to race4warriors.org for more information.
