Veterans affairs commission director addresses Rotary

July 25, 2018

Larence Kirby, executive director of the Delaware Commission of Veterans Affairs, addressed the Dover Capital City Rotary Club July 19.

He discussed the commission and its outreach to Delaware veterans of all generations. The commission was established in 1987 to provide assistance to Delaware's veterans, their spouses and dependent children.

The commission manages two state cemeteries at Bear and Millsboro, and has veteran service officers in each county. During the past five years, the commission has expanded its outreach, including its involvement with Delaware Joining Forces, a network of related and outside providers offering additional assistance to veterans and their families. It also administers the Veterans Trust Fund.
