Victoria Ann Leonarski Fry, loved her family

June 27, 2023

Victoria “Vicky” Ann Leonarski Fry, 65, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family Monday, June 26, 2023.

Vicky was born Oct. 15, 1957, in Wilmington. She attended Holy Rosary grade school and Claymont High School. She had fond memories of her father, mother, uncles, and especially her great-grandmother, Letitia. Vicky fascinated her family with detailed memories of her aunts, uncles, and childhood stories.

Her family meant the most to her, and Vicky loved them dearly. She had a love for beauty, flowers, art and gourmet food. Full of creative ideas, Vicky enjoyed cooking, gardening, decorating her home and discovering priceless finds in her favorite thrift store.

Keinan, Vicky’s son, and Kira, her daughter, benefited from her caring presence as a homemaker during their youth. Kira blessed Vicky with three adorable grandchildren, whom she spoiled at every opportunity. Her grandchildren brought her great joy. She loved to visit them, hear them excitedly cry, “Mommom!” and exchange hugs and kisses. Vicky was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was loved by many; she will be deeply and genuinely missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Jean Leonarski.

Vicky is survived by her husband, James Fry; her children, Keinan Fry and Kira Newswanger; her son-in-law, Clark Newswanger; and her three grandchildren, Salem, Emmaus and Simona.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 29, at Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Hwy., Lewes, where friends may visit beginning at 2 p.m.
