June 14, 2011

The Villages of Five Points is hosting another series of free movies and concerts this summer. Again this year, residents and visitors will be treated to Thursday night movies and the best in live local entertainment.

Sponsored by Make My Day Event Planning, all events take place on the Community Center lawn or in the gazebo and are free and open to the public.

The live concert series kicks off with Oh Boy, A Tribute to Rockabilly Saturday, June 25, at the gazebo, followed up by a July Fourth weekend performance by The Funsters Saturday, July 2, and a headlining show Saturday, July 23, featuring Love Seed Mama Jump on the Community Center lawn.  Concerts will run from 7:30-9:30 p.m.

Movie screenings start with "Despicable Me" Thursday, July 7, and continue each Thursday through Aug. 11 with a rain date slated for Aug. 18. The lineup includes "Eat, Pray, Love"; "Little Fockers" and "Toy Story 3." Movies are shown on a giant screen at sunset on the Community Center lawn. Free popcorn is provided.

“The movies and concerts seem to grow in popularity each year, with some events drawing about 1,000 people, so we are really excited to see this year’s outcome,” said Jamin Hudson, managing partner of The Villages of Five Points. “The Town Center is where visitors and residents can enjoy the modern side of Lewes with our restaurants, free entertainment, convenient parking and easy access.”

The Villages of Five Points is a mixed-use community with condominiums, townhouses and single-family homes in Lewes at the intersection of Route 1 and Savannah Road. The Town Center features a variety of shops and restaurants including Arena’s Cafe, Edible Arrangements, Fish On, Fisher Bay Gourmet Foods, Greene Turtle, The MedSpa, M. Gallucios Italian Eatery, and Sound Advice.

The Villages of Five Points and Make My Day Event Planning look forward to seeing area residents and visitors for Summer on the Green 2011.
